Navratri Thali

Navratri is just around the corner. There are people who are on a strict fast for all the nine days of festivity. So, if you are fasting this Navratri, then here’s how you prepare that traditional Navratri thali at home.


In menu:
1.Sabudana tikki
2.Puri
3.Aloo ki sabji
4.Raita

Sabudana tikki

Ingredients:
Sabudana ( soaked overnight)
Boiled potatoes-3
Chopped coriander
Peanuts
Salt
Coriander powder- 1tsp
Chilly powder-1/2 tsp
Asafoetida- 1/2tsp

Method:
1.)Add all the ingredients together and mash it very well for a uniform mixture.
2) Make shapes( size according to preference)of tikki and deep fry it in refined oil.
3) Your tikkis will be ready to serve.

Puri

Ingredients
Singhara atta
Ghee- 1cup
Lukewarm water ( A very little amount of water is used to make the perfect soft dough)

Method
1)Take singhara atta in a bowl.
2) Add a cup of ghee, lukewarm water and start making the dough
3) Roll the dough and make the shapes (size as per preference) of puri.
4) Fry the puri golden brown in refined oil.


Aloo ki sabji

Ingredients:
3 boiled potatoes
Chopped chillies
3 chopped tomatoes
Chopped coriander leaves
Bay leaf and 1 dried red chilly
Methi seeds
Cumin seeds
Crushed cardamom
Cloves and 1 cinnamon stick
Turmeric powder- 1tsp
Coriander powder-2tsp
Asafoetida-1tsp

Method:
1)Add oil in a pan.
2) Add 1 bay leaf,a dried red chilly,methi seeds, cumin seeds, cloves and cinnamon stick. Temper for a while
3) Add the tomatoes and fry it for sometime. Mash the tomatoes with spatula when soft.
4) Add salt as per taste, turmeric powder, 2tbsp of coriander powder, 1 tsp of chilly powder, 1tsp of asafoetida and give a mix thoroughly.
5) Add water to the mixture and let it boil for sometime.
6) Mash the boiled potatoes with hand and add in the gravy. Boil it for sometime for the absorption of gravy in the potato.
7) Add crushed cardamom, chopped coriander leaves and chopped chillies stit it for 2 minutes and let it simmer.
8) Serve it hot with puri and raita.

Raita

Ingredients:-
Fruits ( banana,apple,guava, pear)
Sugar-4 tbsp
Curd-2 cup
Chopped coriander-1/2 tsp

Method:-
1)Add all the ingredients in a bowl and mix it well.
2)Serve the raita cold with sabudana tikki, puri, aloo ki sabji.
