At the inaugural ceremony of IAF Conclave in Bengaluru on October 22, Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari said, “Indian Forces fought synergistically on western and eastern fronts demonstrating prowess in air, over land and on sea. Indian Army, Navy and Air Force dominated all domains of warfare and compelled Pakistan forces to surrender in shortest time.” He further added “The 1971 war is one of the shortest and swiftest victories ever recorded in the history of military warfare. Surrender of 93,000 Pakistani troops represents largest-ever submission by an Army after World War II.”
