Amtrak 89 Palmetto Locomotive Change at Washington DC New Years Eve 2017

Amtrak 89 is the Palmetto Route Northbound Train departing from Savannah Georgia and heading to New York Penn Station in Manhattan. The Locomotive Power that pulls the Train is a P42 Genesis Locomotive from Savannah Georgia to Washington Union Station. Upon Arrival of Washington DC, the Amtrak Northeast Corridor is all Electrified from Washington Union Station to Boston. The Engine changes from Diesel to Electric which is now powered by ACS 64 Electric Locomotives. The Engine Number that is going to be used for the Trip from Washington DC to New York Penn is Engine Number 631 that is about to switch tracks from the side with no passenger cars to Passenger Cars on the Palmetto.
