Ime Udoka: "It's 5 Games In, There's 77 Left...It's Not Time To Panic" | Practice Availability 10-29

BOSTON, MA -- Ime Udoka spoke to the media during Celtics practice media availability on Friday. Udoka ruled out Marcus Smart (illness) for the Wizards game on Saturday. Aaron Nesmith (illness) is traveling but the tem will see how he feels tomorrow.

Quotes from Udoka:

Udoka on criticizing team: "We have a high character group that understands and wants to be great. I think critical is a stretch, it's just honest."

On the film session: "It was great, it was high energy, we showed a ton of film ... they responded well, had a lot of dialogue in the film session." ..."Everyone (was) trying to get their own to start the game ... not a lot of movement or space ... it's not a ton of double big lineups ... in general offense is not the problem."

Udoka on Brown: "It could be a number of things ... it could be some COVID after-effects, you never know ... it also could be general fatigue ... we're all cognizant of (it)."

On the slow start: "It's five games in, there's 77 left ... it's not time to panic ... I understand that and the players do too."

On Smart's struggles: "Those shots are going to balance out ... he's had a slow start ... as long as he's taken the high quality shot we're OK with it ... know he's a guy who can make those shots ... you draw two bodies, get off the ball and he's just happened to miss some."
