ACT government passes affirmative consent laws

The ACT legislative assembly has just passed new sexual consent laws to the relief of victim-survivors and advocates. The affirmative consent legislation, which is similar to laws already passed in NSW, puts a positive definition on consent so that sexual encounters must be freely and actively communicated.
