Sensational Love Triangle With Miley Cyrus' Former Pop Star Boyfriend, Legend and Bitter Ex Hits

A SENSATIONAL love triangle in the Australian swimming team has reached the Commonwealth Games.

And there's already a lot of tension between the former pop star who dated Miley Cyrus, his 11-time Olympic medalist girlfriend and his bitter ex.

Super swimmer Emma McKeon dated fellow Australian star Kyle Chalmers for a few months in 2021.

But it's clear they're not the best of friends, even though they teamed up to win gold on Friday night.

Both were part of the team that participated in the 4x100m mixed medley relay on the first day of the Games.

However, the Aussies were the only team not to raise their hands in unison before the race.

And then it got very awkward when Chalmers, 24, spoke to the Canadian team while William Yang and Mollie O'Callaghan shook hands with McKeon; the then-teenage O'Callaghan stood between the former partners on the podium.

To make matters worse for Chalmers, McKeon is now dating singer-turned-swimmer Cody Simpson, who is also in Birmingham for the Commonwealths.

Simpson, 25, is from the Gold Coast and was a child prodigy in the pool.

But he decided to pursue a career in music as a pop and R&B artist, before making the leap into elite sport.

The Queenslander, who has previously dated Bella Thorne and Gigi Hadid as well as Cyrus, took part in the 2018 Commonwealth Games in his hometown as part of the live entertainment, but this time he is competing.

There were allegations that Chalmers tried to stop Simpson from joining the Australian swim team.

Chalmers initially seemed set to snub both the World Championships and the Commonwealth Games.

But he took a sudden U-turn to compete in Hungary and then Birmingham when Simpson and McKeon went official with an Instagram post in early July after a romantic trip to Barcelona.

Regardless, the rivals are now on the same team and even compete in the same events.

McKeon's past and present boyfriends were eliminated from their respective semi-finals in the 50-meter butterfly.

Simpson, who entered four events, was a late replacement in the 50m and has better chances in his favorite discipline, the 100m butterfly.

And there's even a chance they could line up together in the 4x100 relay at the Sandwell Aquatic Center.
