Calls to scrap best-before dates in Aussie supermarkets

Sustainability groups are calling for what they say are unnecessary best-before dates on packaged fresh produce to be scrapped in an effort to cut down on household waste. A number of British supermarkets have removed best-before dates on fresh food products. But can Australia follow suit? Professor Karen Charlton is a nutritional epidemiologist at the university of Wollongong. She says there is a difference between best before dates and use by dates.
