There are two main ways to isolate organisms.
1:Streaking for isolation on an agar plate.
2:The pour plate method.
How do you isolate pathogens from plants?
The tissues must be blotted dry with a sterile paper towel. 3. Prepare culture media on which the isolated fungal or bacterial pathogens will be grown.
How bacteria are isolated from infected plant part?
The infected tissues along with adjacent small unaffected tissue are cut into small pieces (2–5 mm squares) and by using flame-sterilized forceps, they are transferred to sterile petridishes containing 0.1% mercuric chloride solution used for surface sterilization of plant tissues.
