Drone footage shows moment whale breaches whilst feeding off coast of New York

This incredible drone footage shows the moment a whale breaches whilst feeding off the coast of New York. The creature was seen gliding deep below the surface towards a school of fish before breaching to swallow its prey. The clip was posted by the Jones Beach Lifeguard Corp, based in Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh, New York, to their Twitter account on Wednesday (31/08). They said: "Our lifeguard drone operator captured this amazing moment earlier today. "We love our thriving oceans here at the world-famous Jones Beach.” They were able to capture this moment as officials at the park have been increasingly monitoring the water for shark activity using drones. The video also comes after reports from experts of increased dolphin and whale sightings around New York due to improved fishing practices and cleaner waters.
