Hand — Everybody’s Own 1972 (Switzerland, Progressive/Folk Rock)
  • last year
Extremely rare, the only recording of a progressive folk/rock band from Switzerland. The recording was made in Lausanne, but despite the passing years, it confirms the timeless compositional and performing talents of Marc Osborne, Tony Angier and Jean-Jacques Gauer. The lyrics were written by the band members themselves, although most of them were then still in their teens and were only students of the named sophisticated masters. These songs combine the signature sounds of the British folk revival from the likes of Donovan, Nick Drake and Pentangle with the psychedelic vibes of Byrds, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Neil Young to create music that still sounds fresh and relevant. When much of today's music is inspired by the great bands of the 70s, "Hand" with its "Everybody's Own" can be fully classified as such and as one of the best preserved examples of that prolific era, it is quite ripe for re-release. The album was originally limited to 500 copies on black vinyl and 100 copies on white vinyl.
