On December 13, The United States said it strongly opposes any unilateral attempt to advance territorial claims as clashes broke out between Indian & Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang sector. The US said it is closely monitoring the situation along the LAC after clashes broke out on December 9. US State Department spokesperson Ned Price told reporters that the US is in ‘close contact’ with its Indian ‘partners’. Karine Jean-Pierre, The White House press secretary, said, “We're closely monitoring the situation.” In the parliament, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that The Indian troops bravely stopped the Chinese Army from transgressing the LAC in the Yangtse area.
