Life would be nothing without beautiful women and the hope of having one.

Lots of things about this song I like: Clyde Mattock's dobro is haunting, to say the least. Then there's the story line. The rhyme scheme is very captivating, and the chord progression is not nearly as normal as you might think. Then it modulates. Twice.

Clyde told me that when I sent him the five or so songs I wanted him to play on for the Salter Path album, this one really caught his ear. I'm so glad it did.

Other than my background rhythm guitar and Zak McLamb on bass, Clyde carries the song.

Every woman in this video is from Salter Path. Except for the hot one in the chorus. She's my aunt and that photo was taken in the 1930's. I would have broken a few rules back then had I been her age...

Mfd: guitar, vocals, song, video
Clyde Mattocks: dobro
Zak McLamb: stand-up bass
Kristin Kanady: soprano harmony
