This is not a “doomsday” song. It’s a song about realizing just how much God has done for us to be able to even exist… and then to be saved. How long it will take us to thank him for this amazing life and grace we have been granted?

Eternity.

My favorite line is "Have you ever looked the King in the eye...?" I looked very hard for just the right picture to express what I meant in that line. I finally had to make the picture myself from what I could find online. And it still doesn’t fully grasp the idea, the notion that someday each of us will have that one-on-one moment with our creator where we will surely be made to look him in the eye.

I want God to know I have thought about that, and that my only recourse will be to plead the blood of Christ in order to be spared an eternal separation from my Maker.

Do I love God. Oh yes, and I tell him daily.

Am I afraid of God? I sure as hell am.

“The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom.” Mark 4.3.53
