Fast Growing Garlic using Plastic Bottle

  • last year
Growing garlic using plastic bottles can be a quick and easy way to grow garlic in a small space, such as a balcony or windowsill. Here is a basic method for growing garlic using plastic bottles:

Materials needed:

Plastic bottles (2-liter soda bottles work well)
Garlic bulbs
Potting soil
Scissors or a utility knife
Marker or pen
Instructions:

Start by cleaning and sanitizing the plastic bottles. Cut off the top of the bottle with scissors or a utility knife, about 2 inches below the neck of the bottle.

Place a small amount of potting soil in the bottom of the bottle. Then, add a clove of garlic and cover it with more potting soil.

Repeat the process, adding layers of soil and cloves of garlic until you reach the top of the bottle.

Water the soil to moisten it, and then place the top of the bottle back on, leaving a small opening for air to circulate.

Place the bottle in a sunny location, and make sure to keep the soil consistently moist.

As the garlic sprouts, you can label the bottle with the variety of garlic you planted.

When the garlic is fully grown and ready to harvest, you can simply remove the bottle and cut the garlic bulbs.

It's important to note that you should not use a plastic bottle that contained any toxic material or chemicals before. Also, the garlic planted in this way may not grow as big as the ones planted in the ground, but it's still edible and healthy.
