Ein ungewöhnlicher Sandsturm transportiert die Soldatin Artemis und ihre Einheit plötzlich in eine andere Welt. Schnell muss die Truppe feststellen, dass die unbekannte Umgebung von gefährlichen Riesenmonstern beherrscht wird, denen ihre herkömmlichen Waffen nichts anhaben können. Für die Gestrandeten beginnt ein Kampf ums Überleben. Beim Versuch, in ihre Welt zurückzukommen, treffen die Soldaten auch auf den mysteriösen Hunter, der sich dank besonderer Ausrüstung und seiner außergewöhnlichen Fähigkeiten bereits wiederholt gegen die Kreaturen behauptet hat.
