Queensland passes reforms strengthening protections for victims

  • last year
Queensland's parliament has passed a range of domestic violence changes aimed at strengthening protection for victims. The laws expand the definition of domestic and family abuse to include a 'pattern of behaviour' and they strengthen punishments for the offence of stalking. The legislation was introduced to parliament last year and paves the way for the criminalisation of coercive control which is expected later in the year.
