A powerful explosion was reported near the Primorsko-Akhtarsk airfield in Russia’s southern Krasnodar region on July 2. The Ukrainian air force says Russia launches Iranian-made Shahed kamikaze drones from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk airfield. The Ukrainian military claims to have destroyed a Russian field ammunition depot in the Bakhmut direction. Russian forces say they killed up to 360 Ukrainian troops in the Donetsk direction over the past day. Putin ally Dmitry Medvedev has warned that potential deployment of nuclear weapons to Poland may prompt the country to use them. Zelensky says he is afraid to lose bipartisan support from the US, and called Republican messages “dangerous”.
