PlayStation Keeps Call of Duty
Sony and Microsoft have signed a binding agreement that ensures Call of Duty will continue to be available on PlayStation gaming consoles for the next ten years, even after the completion of Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The deal addresses concerns about Microsoft's potential dominance in the gaming market and its ability to make games exclusive to its consoles, potentially displacing Sony's PlayStation. While the duration of the agreement has not been disclosed, Microsoft confirmed that it is a long-term deal. This agreement is a step towards alleviating anti-competitive concerns raised by regulators worldwide. The acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft is still pending. Still, the deal's prospects have improved after a federal appeals judge prevented the Federal Trade Commission from temporarily blocking it.
