Trump Charged with Obstruction

A grand jury has indicted former President Donald Trump on four counts of alleged crimes, including conspiracy to defraud the United States and obstructing an official proceeding, concerning his efforts to overturn Joe Biden's election victory after the January 2021 Capitol riot. The 45-page indictment lists charges that include attempting to obstruct an official proceeding and conspiring against people's civil right to have their vote counted. The indictment portrays Trump as a sore loser and inveterate liar who spread false claims of widespread voter fraud to reverse his defeat. The maximum potential sentence for the most serious charge is 20 years in prison.
