What’s On August: Glaswegians take on the Edinburgh Fringe 2023

Less than an hour away from Glasgow is Edinburgh, home to the world’s largest arts and culture festival which is kicking off right now, this August.
While people from almost every country in the world have travelled over for the month-long event either to spectate or perform, there will be no shortage of Glaswegians bringing their shows to the streets of our Capital city.
So, here’s your guide to some of the acts you can see by west coast creatives.
Fringe veteran Roxy Stardust will be returning with her burlesque and cabaret showcase, Viva GlasVegas at the Sewing Room.
She promises dancing, tassels, and even haggis at her popular event and tickets can be found online.
Next up, there’s Rosie Kane who’s taking her sell out Glasgow Comedy Festival show across the country.
In her stand up set she discusses growing up in a working class community in Pollok and then becoming a politician and activist.
You can catch Rosie’s show on 17 August at Boteco Do Brasil.
And finally, James Gardner is brining over Born in a Wheelchair which can be seen everyday at 1.30pm at the Caves.
The set touches on the comedians upbringing with his disabled, non-verbal brother and the humour and challenges it presented.
