Hezbollah destroyed two more Merkava tanks of the Israeli army.
Tensions on the Lebanese-Israeli border rose sharply on Sunday after the Islamic Hezbollah movement reportedly began firing anti-tank missiles at Israeli military installations and settlements, causing civilian and military casualties. It is known that at least one person was killed and eight were injured as a result of the strikes. During the exchange of strikes, at least seven units of military equipment were destroyed, including two Merkava tanks.
In response to the attacks, the IDF returned fire on Hezbollah positions and established a four-kilometer buffer zone along the border with Lebanon to deter further attacks and ensure the safety of the local population.
The situation continued to escalate throughout the day, and by evening the IDF said it had struck military infrastructure in Lebanon in response to shelling that wounded eight people.
Meanwhile, Hamas forces in Lebanon said they fired 20 rockets towards Israel, adding further tension to an already volatile border situation.
