Man arrested for allegedly wielding an axe, injuring a police officer at Karama shopping centre

A Northern Territory police officer has been injured during an arrest in Darwin's northern suburbs last night after receiving calls of a man threatening and attempting to assault people with an axe at a shopping centre. The man was arrested and charged with a number of offences including assaulting an officer.
