Virginia State University to Make History as First HBCU to Host Presidential Debate in 2024

Virginia State University announced that it will host a 2024 Presidential Debate, making it the first Historically Black College or University to do so. The debate will take place on October 1, 2024 at the VSU Multipurpose Center and will be the second of three scheduled presidential debates. VSU students said it was surprising but meaningful for their school to be selected, and it's an opportunity for candidates to listen directly to the concerns of students at HBCU's. In 2016, Longwood University in Virginia hosted a vice-presidential debate. In 1993, the University of Richmond hosted a presidential debate.
