Shia LaBeouf misses Megan Fox

Transformers actor Shia LaBeouf said he is missing his former co-star Megan Fox on the set of the third movie.

Megan, 24, decided not to return to the franchise after apparently clashing with the movie's director Michael Bay.

British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has been brought in to replace Megan, as the leading lady.

Speaking on the set of the third movie, Shia, who plays Sam Witwicky, said: "I love Megan and I miss the girl.

"Sam and Mikaela became one character," he explained "and here (with the casting of Rosie) you have discovery again from a new perspective."

Meanwhile, it seems Michael Bay may agree with some fans and critics who felt that the second Transformers movie - Revenge of the Fallen - was not as strong as the first.

"I'll take some of the criticism," the director said. "It was very hard to put (the sequel) together that quickly after the writers' strike."

Transformers 3 is expected to be released next summer.
