Lionel Richie in upcoming Walker ad

Lionel Richie has a part in the next Walkers TV advert.

The soul legend is seen pursuing the brand's main star, Gary Lineker, for his crisps.

In the new ad, Gary is seen dangling from a parachute in his efforts to get away and sends Lionel hurtling through a glass window.

Lionel said: "When I saw the script for this ad, I just wanted to fly over straight away to London to start filming.

"I like to surprise people and try new things, and I think people will be quite surprised when they see this, particularly when I come flying through a window."

While Gary added: "Lionel was wonderful to work with. He's a lovely guy and he really got into the role quickly. He made us all laugh a lot on set."

The advert is due to be screened for the first time on Friday.
