Approximately one million dogs and cats enter California’s shelters each year,
more then half of them "can check out anytime but they can never leave"
The refusal to try to change things is bad enough...In addition,
recently and not so recent, there are eye witness statements
about beatings and neglect at California's Devore Animal Shelter.
2005 - Eric Foor, a temporary worker, stated he witnessed a 6'5" unformed animal control 'officer' beat a dog with his feet and a baton. Blood poured out of the dogs head, mouth and the cage had splatters on every wall, the ceiling and the floor. "The dog wasn't doing anything. He was in the corner screaming."
All these people can't be "mistaken" or "disgruntled"
