Influx of North Africans with sights set on Italy

They are arriving in their scores, crammed onto small craft. In the last week alone, an estimated 5,500 illegal immigrants, mainly from Tunisia, have landed on the southern coast of Italy. It is a massive influx aimed mainly at the island of Lampedusa.    The tiny island only has 6,000 inhabitants itself. It is just 138 kilometres from the Tunisian coast.   ... http://www.euronews.net/
