You Play Alan Wake, A writer suffering from severe writers block. His wife, Alice, recommends they take a quiet vacation to Bright Falls to get away from things. Once they reach the cabin at Cauldron Lake, Alice calls Alan upstairs for a "surprise". there he finds a typewriter and encouragement from Alice as "a great place to write a book". Alan freaks, rushing out of the house until he hears the screams of Alice before she dissappears in to the murky lake.
Alan's quest to find Alice is a captivating story, a true psychological thriller as the game proclaims. The use of light is also an extremely good idea, and like all good horror games, the feeling of helplessness adds to the fright factor when you are surrounded by the undead and you are smashing the Y button, fumbling around to reload your torch to stave off the demonic foes.Play this game in the dark, on your own, and with a good set of over the ear headphones and you will enjoy one of the best games ever released on the 360.
