Heritage Auctions (HA.com) - This Triceratops specimen was found on private land in the Hell Creek formation of South Dakota in 2004. It was meticulously excavated, prepared, and mounted; resulting in an incredible near-complete Triceratops specimen. The most important feature of this skeleton is the skull; it was found near-complete and therefore required minimal restoration. The skull is also very large for a Triceratops; measuring over 7 feet long and possesses horns measuring 3 1/2 feet long. The entire specimen measures 12 feet tall, 11 feet across, and 19 feet long; making it a peer amongst the largest skeletons in museum and university collections worldwide.
