The Emergency Brake Assist from Continental helps to avoid car accidents in road traffic. It constantly monitors the distance to the vehicle ahead by sensors based on infrared-, camera- or radar-technology. If the distance to another vehicle becomes dangerous, the system performs a warning or preliminary brake and can activate a full service brakeif a collision becomes imminent in order to avoid or at least mitigate the accident.
