BBC1 North West Continuity, Friday 12th September 1980

This was the last continuity announcement for the English Regions if that BBC North West (that is) from Studio P, as that it was the very last closedown that took place from the regional news bulletins that took to shape in those earlier days in the late 70's, things were about to change during the Tory goverment. Well London did all the junctions, weather, and the anthem over the next day from this point on. As Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales still continued to do their own junctions and closedowns until 1997.

Well the 'Goodbye from Closedown News' clock and playout is omitted from this clip, as with the TX date corrected from the autumn of 1980. Also some other English Regions had their final closedown on this date too.

TX: 12th September 1980.
