In the golden age of Westerns on TV, the 50's series "Death Valley Days" was unique in that it was an anthology, heretofore reserved for drama. In this episode, David Janssen, before "The Fugitive" played an oater version of today's medical infomercials, a snake oil salesman who saved a small frontier town from corrupt politicians.
