Is this a record in the making?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - it's on course to become the fastest-selling video game of all time.
This means it would overtake the previous record holder, Call of Duty: Black Ops, which sold more than seven million copies in its first 24 hours.
The going on sale was marked with an exclusive launch party in London on Monday (November 7) night which also saw celebrities such as David Haye and Sophie Ellis-Bexter amongst their guests.
SOUNDBITE: David Haye, Former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, saying (English):
"I got a little bit too addicted to it (the game) at one stage so I tried to wean myself off it but now they've brought out this new one, so I think I might have to get back on the stuff."
SOUNDBITE: Sophie Ellis-Bexter, singer, saying (English):
"I've seen it; I know that it's like amazing graphics. I know that the last Call of Duty game grossed more than Titanic which is incredible. I get it, I just don't play it."
The singer then was probably not among those who made their way to Oxford Street where the game went on sale at midnight.
And the first one to get his hands on the new edition was Mad Sirman. He'd been queuing since Friday (November 4), more than three days.
SOUNDBITE: Mad Sirman, Call of Duty fan, saying (English):
"It feels really good actually. I'm going back home and I'm just going to play the campaign for a bit until I fall asleep with the controls in my hands."
Sirman is one of the 19 million fans who play Call of Duty online each month. More than 6.5 million play it every day.
