Ubisoft Seeks Next Generation Graphics on PS3 and Xbox 360
  • 12 years ago
GDC 2012 recently concluded with an active presence from Ubisoft. Seeking to generate hype for Assassin’s Creed 3, next-generation graphics on PS3 and Xbox 360 are said to be expected thanks to Ubisoft’s latest and greatest engine, AnvilNext. In development for over three years with twice the production volume of any previous Ubisoft title and collaboration with six other first party studios, Assassin’s Creed 3 is titled “the largest project in Ubisoft's history” with an official release date of October 30, 2012.

Informing gamers that the current gaming hardware provided by both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will be able to pull off next-generation graphics thanks to the AnvilNext engine is a big statement that Ubisoft will be forced to live up to. While the trailer shown for Assassin’s Creed 3 was outstanding and was visually incredible, it was obvious that the footage shown was computer-generated. Only time will tell if Ubisoft is truly able to pull this off, but with the team involved and the manpower assigned to the project, I am sure gamers will not be disappointed when Assassin’s Creed 3 launches later this year. Watch as I provide my insight on the statement and cover the details revealed during GDC 2012 for Assassin’s Creed 3.
