Sonic the Hedgehog review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Sonic the Hedgehog from SEGA for the Xbox 360. Sonic the Hedgehog was the attitudinal blue mammal's debut on a new generation of consoles. It's both a 3D action game and a sprawling mess of ideas. You play as Sonic and Tails, of course, but you also play as other hedgehogs. And that basically sums up this game's problems. SEGA built an ambitious adventure game with a ridiculous story and all kinds of new characters, but they never nailed down a single gameplay mechanic to put under the hood. Sonic the Hedgehog is all style and no substance, and even its style is highly suspect. It's also one of the worst Sonic games of all time.
