Referred to as a maniac shooter or bullet hell style shooter, DoDonPachi gives players the choice of three space ships and two shot styles each to combat thousands of enemies and hulking end bosses that fill the screen with shot patterns. Fans of Shmup style shooters regard DoDonPachi as one of the better spaceship shooters on the Sega Saturn, a solid game system which handles DoDonPachi with ease.
