Classic Game Room - ELITE FORCES UNIT 77 for Nintendo DS review

Classic Game Room HD reviews ELITE FORCES UNIT 77 for Nintendo DS. This 80's action film and video game inspired top down military shooter has a lot going for it including nonstop action, difficult levels and the ability to crush people with tanks and trucks. The unique point and shoot / move stylus controls are an acquired taste but effective after much practice. Take control of Elite Forces Unit 77, a four person squad of GI Joe style combat heroes fighting terrorists. One member is a sniper, one uses a bazooka, another disables mines and drives tanks while the fourth is an electrical engineer or something like that. This CGRHD review of Elite Forces Unit 77 has gameplay footage from Elite Forces Unit 77 recorded in HD from the Nintendo DS. Blast hordes of mindless enemy bad guys, throw grenades and explode everything that moves. In some ways it reminds me of Commando or Ikari Warriors mixed with Predator. I'd prefer a more responsive control scheme but the gameplay itself is fast paced, fun and challenging. A lack of frequent save points and touchy point and shoot controls can add a bit of unnecessary frustration to an otherwise solid game, but Elite Forces Unit 77 should appeal to those looking for run and gun top down action on the Nintendo DS with a twist.
