Video uploaded to a social media website appears to show shrouded bodies in the Syrian city of Hama.

Activists said more than 20 people died a day after U.N. monitors visited the city.

Syrian TV on Monday released video of U.N. observers driving through Homs as part of their efforts to oversee a truce.

The agreement has failed to bring a complete halt to 13 months of bloodshed.

The U.N. Security Council's agreed to increase its monitoring team to 300.

U.N. officials in Damascus said they were now paving the way for the expansion of the observer mission.

SOUNDBITE: NEERAJ SINGH, OFFICIAL MEMBER OF THE ADVANCE U.N. TEAM IN SYRIA, SAYING (English):

"I don't think I need to stress the importance of the task that the military observers are here to perform. That is where our focus is. We are continuing our job, we are preparing all the grounds that are necessary for setting up the larger mission of the supervision mission of the U.N."

The bloodshed in Syria has continued despite government promises to comply with the U.N.-backed truce.

More than 9, 000 people have died in the 13 months of fighting unleashed by a popular uprising against President Bashar al-Assad.
