Heinz Wehner mit seinem Telefunken-Swing-Orchester-Das Licht geht aus

Heinz Wehner, born in 1908 and a talented violinist and trumpet player, led a topnotch Swing band in Germany from the mid-thirties till 1944, shortly before his untimely death in the war, presumably in late January 1945. Distressingly, he disappeared without trace, his body was never found and he was declared deceased in 1958. In the late 20s he formed his first jazz trio. His first important contract was at Düsseldorf's dance hall Tabaris. In 1934 he performed at the Europahaus in Berlin. The same year he started his acclaimed recordings for Telefunken throughout the 30s and 40s till his passing. During those years he successfully toured in Germany and Sweden, and played in all leading Berlin dance establishments. This outstanding recording was made in 1936. The vocal trio remained uncredited.
