Classic Game Room - SPY HUNTER for Atari 2600 review
  • 12 years ago
Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of the arcade smash hit SPY HUNTER, now made into a commercial by GM and Pontiac that we call the "Pontiac Spy Hunter Commercial" paying tribute to the Mach 5 style of the Spy Hunter-mobile. Spy Hunter is retro video gaming at its finest, but does the Atari version live up to the coin-op machine in the arcades? You drive a James Bond kind of a car with machine guns and oil slick and blow up enemy bad guys on the road and on the seas... or rivers. Sort of like the scene in Live in Let Die where Roger Moore drives a speedboat through the everglades or something... Maybe the new James Bond movie will be called Spyhunter and he'll drive the Mach 5 and the next Bond girl will be Trixie from Speed Racer. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes.
