Der heute veröffentlichte Walkthrough-Trailer widmet sich einem anderen Aspekt des Spiels, den Polizeiermittlungen. Producer Dan Sochan vom Entwicklerstudio United Front Games führt durch eine von zahlreichen, umfangreichen Polizeimissionen im Spiel, die Spielern im Hauptquartier der Undercover-Einheit der Hongkonger Polizei zur Verfügung stehen.
In der vorgestellten Mission muss Undercover-Cop Wei Shen seine Beziehungen zur Triadenkultur nutzen, um der Polizei dabei zu helfen, eine Mordserie aufzuklären. Überall in Hongkong werden Leichen gefunden und die Polizei vermutet einen Triaden-Hintergrund. Doch dies sind keine normalen Racheakte unter Gangs. Die Polizei befürchtet, dass sie es mit einem Serienmörder zu tun hat.

Sleeping Dogs is a gritty open world cop drama set in city of Hong Kong. Taking the role of undercover cop Wei Shen, players are tasked with taking down one of the world's most fearsome criminal organizations from the inside - the Sun On Yee Triad. Featuring an intuitive and imaginative combat system, Sleeping Dogs empowers players to perform an extensive set of martial arts moves, single-handedly taking on numerous opponents. Players perform bone-crushing kicks and combos, vicious counters, and a cinematic set of environmental takedowns making use of countless real-world items from circular saws to phone booths, incinerators to refrigerator doors.
Sleeping Dogs will go on sale across North America on August 14th, and in Europe and UK on August 17, 2012, for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
