Ironman 70.3 World Championships 2012, Vegas: featuring Breakaway Training

www.BikeWearWorld.com and www.uRide.tv are on location in Las Vegas, Nevada for the first ever Ironman 70.3 World Championships at this location. This is really a special event for us because we are on the road with Coach Felipe and his team Breakaway Training. Coach Felipe is originally from Brazil and has been a champion triathlete for years. He is a dedicated, hard working, fun loving guy who is passionate about everything there is in life. We are documenting the trials and tribulations of what it takes in order to be a competitive triathlete in today's game. Enjoy!!
"Race morning started off with warm conditions that only intensified as the day progressed. The
professional men remained in a fairly close pack during the swim with Josh Amberger, Andy
Potts and Clayton Fettell leading the group, with only seconds separating them. Fettell who was
first out of T1, had to drop during the bike due to stomach issues. The bike course included a
challenging ride through Lake Mead National Recreation Area, with varying terrain and extreme
heat. The pro men stayed in a tight group through the bike, but shortly after the halfway point
Kienle pushed hard to create a solid lead going into the run. Kienle maintained his lead through
the run and captured the IRONMAN World Championship 70.3 title. Earlier in the season, he
placed second at the Frankfurter Sparkasse IRONMAN European Championship. Craig
Alexander (AUS) and Bevan Docherty (NZL) dueled through the run to secure their second and
third place finishes," according to the press release by Ironman.
