Afghans protest against anti-Islam film

Angry Afghans take to the streets of Jalalabad Friday holding an effigy of U.S. President Barack Obama chanting death to American and long live Islam.
The outcry comes in protest against a film that insults the Prophet Mohammad.
So far the protesters have not turned violent.
(SOUNDBITE ) (Pashto) MULAVI ALLAH MOHAMMAD,AFGHAN PROTESTER; SAYING:
"Those who have insulted our prophet Mohammad and committed this crime must be hanged. If those who made this film are not punished then all the responsibilities will be on America's government and they will be accountable for it."
On Wednesday, Kabul banned the YouTube website to stop Afghans from watching the film.
Brigadier General Gunter Katz in Kabul, who was made available to Reuters by the Pentagon says the government's response has helped contain the violence.

"We think this contributed significantly to the situation that we see right now, it is a relatively calm security situation in Afghanistan right now."
In Kabul, security has been tightened around mosques in order to avoid a possible violence protest
