At least two civilians were killed and seven others wounded when a car bomb went off in southwestern Baghdad on Sunday (September 30), according to police and hospital sources.

The car bomb exploded outside a bakery in a Shi'ite neighbourhood in Baghdad's Ammil district.

A local man whose nephew and a friend were both killed in the attack blamed the blast on people linked to fugitive vice-president Tareq al-Hashemi as well as the Al-Sharwqiya and Al-Baghdadiya TV channels, said by many Iraqis to be instigators of sectarian fighting.
