Wii U Defeats Price, Vita to Endure the PS2, and Battlefield on Vita? - Nick’s Gaming View Episode #75

Coming up today on Nick's Gaming View: Wii U off to a great start despite criticized price point, Sony expects Vita to endure the length of PlayStation 2, and Battlefield to possibly take action on Sony's PlayStation Vita, THIS IS NICK'S GAMING VIEW!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nick's Gaming View, you are here with your host Nick McCandless. Despite the criticized price point of the Wii U, those expecting to pick up Nintendo's console in time for the Holiday season may be in for a shock as sales of Nintendo's upcoming console seem nothing short of stellar. In fact, pre-orders around the globe are selling out more than a month before its November 18th release causing many third party electronics sites to charge a premium over the MSRP as a precursor to the overpriced eBay pricing.

Speaking on highly priced gaming devices, Sony has recently gone out on a leg and stated that the PlayStation Vita will endure the length of the PS2. John Koller, Vice President of Hardware Marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment America, recently stated in regards to the PlayStation Vita "We're in year one, so we'll be supporting it for some time. But yeah, it does have its own 10-year life cycle. All of our platforms do... it's a marathon, not a sprint. We expect long-term success from all our platforms." Not quite sure what Sony has in mind, but let's hope they are able to make a huge turnaround as currently the platform is falling well behind expectations.

Continuing on Sony's PlayStation Vita, the Battlefield franchise just may have a presence on Sony's struggling gaming handheld. DICE, developer of the Battlefield franchise, recently posted three new job listings revealing "You will be a part of a small team within a major franchise responsible for the development and growth of DICE's presence on mobile platforms." Could this hint towards a Battlefield release on the Vita, or will we be let down by another mobile phone release? Let's hope it's not the latter, but stay tuned to Nick's Gaming View for your daily access pass for all things gaming.
