Your big wedding day has arrived...

Dress? Check. Guests? Check. Enormous gong? Check.

And here's the lucky couple.. a pair of Trekkies who decided to tie the knot as Klingons during a Star Trek convention in the UK.

Originally from Sweden, the couple say they fell in love with each other and the Klingon way of life.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) JOSSIE SOCKERTOPP, KLINGON BRIDE, SAYING:

"We saw the clip from the series where the Klingons get married and we thought it was very romantic about the beating hearts and the battle for each other."

The ceremony took place at a Star Trek convention in London.

The celebrant, who conducted some of the wedding in Klingon, could only hope his pronunciations were correct.

(SOUNDBITE) (English with Klingon translation) PETER WYLLIE, WEDDING CELEBRANT, SAYING:

"So it was, do you take this woman to be your wife…(reads Klingon translation)….and do you take this man to be your husband….(reads Klingon translation)…There's probably a Klingon interpreter there going 'you dork', and whatever a dork is I have probably just done that."

The couple will spend the rest of their holiday mingling with their fellow Klingons, Vulcans and Romulans.

May they live long and prosper.
