Coming up today on Nick’s Gaming View, Microsoft Surface to support Xbox 360 controllers, Pikmin 3 receives a release time frame, and Mario and Zelda integration within Sribblenauts Unlimited, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 8-powered tablet, Surface, recently attracted millions of gamers when Microsoft announced that their upcoming tablet will indeed support for their Xbox 360 controllers. Releasing on October 26th with prices beginning at $499, Microsoft’s Surface will allow users to plug an Xbox 360 controller to the tablet via USB and use as an input device for applications and games providing gamers with a true gaming experience opposed to touch controls. While this is certainly a nice feature to integrate within the Surface and will certainly attract gamers to the device, is it enough to warrant the $499 price point?

Speaking on upcoming hardware, Nintendo’s Wii U is just a month away from its anticipated release and the announced line-up has many Nintendo fans drooling in excitement. One of these titles, Pikmin 3, is certain to attract huge sales figures, but for those expecting to purchase the latest Pikmin release soon after the release of the Wii U, think again. Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, recently confirmed that Pikmin 3 will be released in North America during the Spring of 2013 missing its 2012 release that many gamers had hoped for. As much as it’s upsetting to see such an anticipated title require more patience, I’m sure the delay will benefit the end product greatly.

Completing the news day with Nintendo, a press release was recently issued announcing that both characters from the Mario and Zelda franchises will be making an appearance in Scribblenauts Unlimited. With Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Links, Zelda, Epona, and Goron all confirmed members of the cast, fans of both Scribblenauts and the Mario and Zelda franchises have yet another release to look forward to on Wii U, 3DS, and PC this November.
