For the second round, the third hit is tricky. You have to swing right before the icon actually appears, not once it's appeared. Just plan ahead; after the second strike, take a 1 sec pause, then swing again and it should be at the same time as the icon appears. Same with the fifth and last hits. Just strike ahead and start the boss fight over until you know when exactly to swing.
