Coming up today on Nick’s Gaming View, Dishonored DLC on the way, Insomniac Games’ CEO dismisses statement from the President of Electronic Arts Labels, and Medal of Honor: Warfighter’s single-player campaign length restated, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. Bethesda Softworks’ latest software release, Dishonored, has had an incredible launch filled with a healthy amount of positive reviews and customer feedback, but many have requested that Bethesda expand the experience. Thankfully Bethesda has listened, and has announced the Dunwall City Trials including ten challenge maps testing gamer’s combat, stealth, and mobility skills. Priced at $4.99 or 400 Microsoft points and slated to launch this December, Dishonored: Dunwall City Trails will be followed by two additional DLC packs releasing in 2013 featuring story-driven campaigns. While pricing and details have yet to be provided on the story-driven DLC packs, Bethesda has stated that details will be uncovered closer to launch during 2013.

Speaking of Dishonored, Ted Price, CEO of Insomniac Games’, recently used the Bethesda release as an example to prove Electronic Arts Labels’ President, Frank Gibeau wrong on his recent statement that launching new IPs late in the console cycle is not worth the investment. With Dishonored releasing 5-6 years deep within the current console generation, Ted Price expressed his belief that new IPs can always succeed defending their decision to develop FUSE, the upcoming four-player co-operative action-based shooter.

Finishing off on Electronic Arts, their latest first-person shooter, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, has recently received an update in regards to the length of the title’s single-player campaign. Originally advertised to endure ten hours of action-packed gameplay, EA has restated their comment by revealing the campaign will last anywhere from 5-15 hours based on the player’s skills and experience. Sure, ten hours is the mid-point of this range, but five hours? Regardless of skill, it’s evident their focus lies in multiplayer as the single-player is sliced down.
