Muslim cleric wins appeal against deportation

Abu Qatada can stay in the UK -- the Muslim cleric won his latest appeal against against extradition to Jordan where he was convicted of terror charges over a decade ago.
Once considered Osama bin Laden's right-hand man in Europe, Qatada's legal victory is not being well received.

SOUNDBITE: Home Secretary Theresa May saying:
"I hardly need to tell the house the government strongly disagrees with this ruling. Qatada is a dangerous man, a suspected terrorist who is accused of serious crimes in his home country of Jordan. The British government has obtained from the Jordanian government assurances not just in relation to the treatment of Qatada himself but about the quality of the legal processes that would be followed throughout his trial."
Videos of Qatada's hate sermons were found in the apartments of one of the September 11th bombers. His appeal was granted after attorneys raised concerns that some of the evidence brought against him was obtained through torture.
May says Qatas poses a risk to the public.

She added that the government will continue to call for Qatada's deportation.
